Triggers a new execution using the latest revision of the given workflow by a Pub/Sub push notification.

Scopes

You will need authorization for the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform scope to make a valid call.

If unset, the scope for this method defaults to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform.
You can set the scope for this method like this:
workflowexecutions1 --scope <scope> projects locations-workflows-trigger-pubsub-execution ...

Required Scalar Argument

<workflow> (string)

Required. Name of the workflow for which an execution should be created. Format: projects/{project}/locations/{location}/workflows/{workflow}

Required Request Value

The request value is a data-structure with various fields. Each field may be a simple scalar or another data-structure.
In the latter case it is advised to set the field-cursor to the data-structure's field to specify values more concisely.

For example, a structure like this:

TriggerPubsubExecutionRequest:
gcp-cloud-events-mode: string
delivery-attempt: integer
message:
attributes: { string: string }
data: string
message-id: string
ordering-key: string
publish-time: string
subscription: string

can be set completely with the following arguments which are assumed to be executed in the given order. Note how the cursor position is adjusted to the respective structures, allowing simple field names to be used most of the time.

-r . gcp-cloud-events-mode=eos

Required. LINT: LEGACY_NAMES The query parameter value for __GCP_CloudEventsMode, set by the Eventarc service when configuring triggers.

delivery-attempt=97

The number of attempts that have been made to deliver this message. This is set by Pub/Sub for subscriptions that have the "dead letter" feature enabled, and hence provided here for compatibility, but is ignored by Workflows.

message attributes=key=ea

Optional. Attributes for this message. If this field is empty, the message must contain non-empty data. This can be used to filter messages on the subscription.

the value will be associated with the given
key

data=ipsum

Optional. The message data field. If this field is empty, the message must contain at least one attribute.

message-id=invidunt

ID of this message, assigned by the server when the message is published. Guaranteed to be unique within the topic. This value may be read by a subscriber that receives a
PubsubMessage
via a
Pull
call or a push delivery. It must not be populated by the publisher in a
Publish
call.

ordering-key=amet

Optional. If non-empty, identifies related messages for which publish order should be respected. If a
Subscription
has
enable_message_ordering
set to
true
, messages published with the same non-empty
ordering_key
value will be delivered to subscribers in the order in which they are received by the Pub/Sub system. All
PubsubMessage
s published in a given
PublishRequest
must specify the same
ordering_key
value. For more information, see ordering messages.

publish-time=duo

The time at which the message was published, populated by the server when it receives the
Publish
call. It must not be populated by the publisher in a
Publish
call.

.. subscription=ipsum

Required. The subscription of the Pub/Sub push notification. Format: projects/{project}/subscriptions/{sub}

About Cursors

The cursor position is key to comfortably set complex nested structures. The following rules apply:

The cursor position is always set relative to the current one, unless the field name starts with the
.
character. Fields can be nested such as in
-r f.s.o
.

The cursor position is set relative to the top-level structure if it starts with
.
, e.g.
-r .s.s

You can also set nested fields without setting the cursor explicitly. For example, to set a value relative to the current cursor position, you would specify
-r struct.sub_struct=bar
.

You can move the cursor one level up by using
..
. Each additional
.
moves it up one additional level. E.g.
...
would go three levels up.

Optional Output Flags

The method's return value a JSON encoded structure, which will be written to standard output by default.

-o out

out specifies the destination to which to write the server's result to.
It will be a JSON-encoded structure.
The destination may be
-
to indicate standard output, or a filepath that is to contain the received bytes.
If unset, it defaults to standard output.
